2021 Official Evergy Kids Safety Billboard Contest Rules

Introduction: Evergy is offering the 2021 Kids Safety Billboard Contest. The purpose of this contest is to promote electrical safety in our community.

Eligibility: You must live within the Evergy service territory to be eligible to enter the contest. Everyone under 18 years of age who submits artwork into the contest must have a parent’s or guardian’s signature. Employees and their “immediate family” are not eligible to enter this contest. “Immediate family” includes a parent, sibling, child, spouse, grandparent, grandchild and any step relatives.

Start/End Dates: The submission period begins at 12:01 a.m. (CDT) on October 1, 2021. The submission period ends at 11:59 pm (CDT) on October 20, 2021. The voting period begins at 12:01 am (CDT) October 25, 2021 and ends at 11:59 pm (CDT) on November 4, 2021. The winners will be announced on November 10, 2021.

Safety Content Artwork Rules:

1. Contest open to children of Evergy customers between the ages of 5–12.
2. Drawings should be 11” wide by 8.5” tall, designed in a landscape format.
3. Drawings need to include one of the 8 electrical safety themes provided by Evergy.
4. Images in the submission must be original artwork; tracing or replication of copyrighted material is not allowed.
5. By submitting artwork to this contest, you grant to Evergy a royalty-free license to copy, distribute, modify, display and perform publicly and otherwise use, and authorize others to use, your artwork for any purpose in any media, including but not limited to billboards, social media, bill inserts, digital ads, among others.
6. By submitting artwork to this contest, you grant to Evergy permission for the use of your name, age, hometown, and photograph/likeness for any purpose in any media, including but not limited to billboards, social media, bill inserts, digital ads, among others.
7. Multiple entries by the same entrant are allowed but must be submitted separately via the online form.
8. Evergy will disqualify any entries it deems in its exclusive discretion to contain offensive material.
9. Entries must be entered or received by mail by 11:59 PM October 20, 2021. The winner will be notified via email and announced on Evergy Facebook page on November 10, 2021.
10. The terms and conditions must be agreed to by the entrant’s parent or legal guardian.
11. Evergy reserves the right to disqualify any drawing that in its exclusive discretion violates these rules.

How to Enter: Create your artwork entry following the above outlined requirements, and then upload it to the Evergy contest submission page. To mail-in an entry, mail the original drawing to Attn: Evergy Marketing 30th Floor, 1200 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64105. Once the submission deadline is reached, Evergy will select up to 10 entries to be considered for prizes and to be made into billboards in our community. Those entries will be featured on Evergy’s Facebook Page and possibly other Evergy channels including Twitter, LinkedIn, and/or YouTube.

Voting Process: Once all selected artwork is published to the Evergy Facebook page, you can begin to share your artwork to get “Likes”. The artwork submission with the greatest number of “Likes” will be selected as the Grand Prize Winner and will win the Grand Prize of $200 Visa Gift Card. Runner Up gift cards will be mailed to other entrants whose artwork was eligible for voting.

Judging Criteria: A panel of judges chosen by Evergy will review all entries. The decisions of the judges on all matters relating to the contest are final and not open to review. All entries will be judged based on the following criteria:

• All submission rules were followed
• Use of electrical safety message
• Creativity
• Originality
• Overall artwork quality

The chances of winning a prize are dependent on the number and quality of entries submitted prior to the deadline. If Evergy does not receive enough entries of sufficient quantity or quality, Evergy reserves the right not to award any prizes.

Prize Notification: The winning artwork will be announced on November 10, 2021. The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. Winners will be notified by email within 72 hours following the selection. The winners will have two (2) calendar days to claim their prize after notification. In the event of a failure to claim or other ineligibility, alternate winners will be selected.

Each entrant selected, as a potential winner must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all such requirements. If the winner cannot be contacted within two (2) calendar days of first notification attempt, if prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of noncompliance with these contest rules and requirements, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.

General Conditions: Entry in the Evergy Kids Safety Billboard Contest constitutes the winner's permission for the use of his/her name, age, hometown, photograph/likeness for advertising and promotional purposes for this and similar promotions without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Federal, state and local taxes and other fees that may be associated with the receipt of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners agree to release and hold harmless Evergy and their employees and directors from any liability, damages or claims arising from participation in the Evergy Kids Billboard Contest.

Privacy Policy: The personal information you submit on the entry form will only be used to contact you in the event you win the contest or if there is a question or issue regarding your submission or its content. We will not disclose, give, sell, or transfer any personal information about you, unless required for law enforcement or by statute or court order.
